The term physiotherapy is derived from Greek: phusis ‘nature’ and therapeia ‘healing’. It denotes healing by natural, not just physical means.
Physiotherapists assess, diagnose and treat conditions which affect movement and function, such as low back pain, after-effects of surgery, nerve injuries, disability due to stroke, trauma, or congenital conditions such as scoliosis. In particular populations such as athletes, physiotherapists work with the clients to optimise performance and prevent injuries. Physiotherapists help patients by encouraging each person’s intrinsic healing potential (e.g. through hands-on techniques, advice and exercises) to improve function, maximise independence, and promote individual and community wellbeing.
At Well and More Clinic, we honour the ideals of natural healing, self-efficacy, proactive wellbeing, and health promotion. We help people get well, stay well, and achieve the healthiest version of themselves.
