Healing Yoga

Healing Yoga, or trauma-informed yoga, is an approach to use guided movement to build a connection between mind and body. It is designed to help the participants find calm, equanimity and faciliate healing, and places the emphysis on the individual’s inner experience as you breathe, imagine and move, rather than the postures and asanas.

Some characteristics of Healing Yoga include:

– Presence: Strengthen the connection between mind, body and emotions, empowering participants to make decisions that will guide their personal healing.

– Consent: No hands-on assists or adjustments without prior permission.

– Choice: All aspects are optional and invitational language is always used.

– Boundary: No need to talk to others in group classes.

This 4-week, face to face, healing yoga course invites participants to learn skills including mindfulness, meditation, using the breath to regulate autonomic arousal, improving body awareness, distress tolerance and developing insight, so you can be more present, aware and meet your own needs.
